Can't install windows XP in HP tx2500

Dear all:

I bought an HP tx2500 in early October and have had numerous problems with it. The specs are a 2.4 GHz AMD Turion X2 ultra 64 with ATI 3200 graphics, and 3 GB of memory. It overheated so much and had so many other problems that I had to send it in to get repaired. I could not even load windows XP much less install it and now that I got the laptop back, I still cannot install windows XP. The CD will load initially, but will crash right before it goes to the partitioning and installing screen.

I get the message
***STOP: 0x0000007B (0xF78D2524, 0x00000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)

With the blue screen of death every time. I have tried 4 different windows XP cds, and they all fail with the same error message. I even tried the windows xp tablet pc edition, and that failed. Every time I tried, it was with windows SP2. I would appreciate if you could tell me what I need to do in order to install windows XP on this computer.

Hi,
Did you contact HP to ensure that the 2500 will run XP? They should be able to get you downgrade disks as well.
