Does anyone know where I can get an application that will allow me to change the brightnes on the toshiba 3500. the problem I have is when in tablet mode, power savings keep changing screen brightness. I could just keep screen at full power all the time, but this would eat the battery, so I would like to be able to change at will !

alternatively does anyone know how I can capture fn key press in VB.

thanks

Craig

Do you mean other than Tools>Options>Other>Tablet Settings>Display>Brightness?

It does seem like alot to go through to change the settings.

Press and hold the "enter" button (between the two arrow buttons) on the screen and a menu appears. Select the "brightness" icon, then adjust brightness up or down.

If you use the built in Toshiba PowerSaving application, you can set the level of brightess for four levels of battery power. I have mine on full bright until 50% battery power, then the brighness dims a little and when 25% battery dims a little more.

It seems to still give me 1 1/2 to 2 hours time. You can access this utility from the program menu> Toshiba Console > Power Management > in the running on batteries section highlight "Normal" and click on details, then choose power saving tab at the top of the window.

Hope this helps

Dave
