Just recently bought a used Litepad and although this is an excellent machine, I'm a bit worried about one thing. The hard drive.

After reading the thread of swapping to a 30gb and the only way for the 30gb to take is by cloning before installation. This worries me because I hear a very faint *click* noise every couple minutes. At first I thought it was my microdrive in the CF slot. Nope. It's the hard drive.

I installed a couple programs to read the SMART attributes and everything checks out minus the Spin Retry Count, supposedly operating at 35%.

I also checked the system logs and I have a few error #11 and 51. 51 is solely the cdrom. But on the error #11, I get:

"The driver detected a controller error on \Device\Harddisk1\D."

And although I received one over a week ago, I can't get an event to throw today.

Does anyone else get a click? Is replacing the drive as serious as it sounds by requiring a clone of the drive before installing?
