Hello all,
I got a Stylistic LT and need to install a new harddisk. Somehow it seems, the LT doesn't recognize the harddisk.
In order to install the harddisk I have to do it externally Sad , have no diskdrive or cd drive or else. But have a different Notebook with diskette and CD Laughing .
Any ideas?

best regards and thanks fro Germany

Thomas

Are you talking about an external Hard Drive? You can buy an enclosure on NewEgg.com for about $30 and it can just plug in via USB.

I don't get what the problem is here, are you trying to replace the internal harddrive?

You no longer want tablet functionality and whatnot? Installing anything over XP Tablet Edition will lose that functionality.

If it is not booting try a full reformat by installing the disk in another system and wiping it clean. Then install the disk in the tablet and install your OS. It can be tricky.

With some disks, particularly the original one you have to format it in the machine itself, if you format it outsite the 'geometry' doesn't get detected properly and it won't work when you put it back in the tablet.

The best way to format it in the tablet is to use a PXE boot, this works briliantly with these tablets but is hard to setup.
