I'm buying a Tablet PC, but am not sure which model to choose. I had an older Fujitsu, but it got REALLY hot on the screen and back. So, I'd like to avoid that again. I found an ACER C102T demo that I can get for $1,500...but am wondering if it's a good deal. Which models do you recommend? Do any companies offer Educational Discounts??
I guess, I'd like a keyboard attached, but have heard that the Acer isn't too durable, etc. and is maxed out at 256 RAM. Will this be enough to run Office XP?? Also, if there are updates to Tablet XP, will these work on the 1st Generation Tablets, or will we need to upgrade?
I'm also a bit confused about MS Office on the Tablet. The older Fujitsu's offered "pen works" which would automatically convert handwriting to text within Word, Outlook, etc. It merely required you to program the machine to recognize your handwriting. I saw an IPAQ yesterday that had this function as well. Is this an option on Tablet XP and MS Tablet Office??
I just want to know if the Tablet will be flexible enough for me to use for grading/assessment in my classroom, and for WebPage updates on the road for my part-time job. Any advice would be welcomed. You can e-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org
