I see many posts about replaced LitePad mainboards, but nobody mentions the actual point of failure. Is it a chipset? Traceline? Pads? Replacing the mainboard seems easiest laborwise, but removing/replacing surface mounted chips, jumpering failed traces, repairing pads could/should be another option before declaring that all is lost, especially for those with systems out of warranty.

my situation is maddening. When I turn it on, it starts to boot up, and then simply dies. Teh techhie who looked at it assumed there was a short somewhere, but couldn't trackit down as to the precise location. _________________ Tired NEC Veteran
