Thanks for the posts, pity all the contact info is useless!!

That is unless you want to spend ALOT of cash on a completely unsupported product. If I ignored my customers like Toshiba do so well I would be out of business.

Really, I first purchased a Tecra M4 2ghz, 2gb, 120g, 128m nVidia, Bluetooth...

I also purchased a Multi Dock 2, with what can only be described as scandalous instructions... And after ten days we still cant get dual monitors to work when docked. We figured it out eventually when undocked, by using forums, not Toshiba support channels. This has baffled everyone in my office and a few "expert" friends, including a technician from an IT company, who gave up after six hours and lots of coffe.

Its a good job we are Irish and therfore have a sense of humour...

Basically this has been an expensive exercise after which we recieved NO SUPPORT. I had to trawl the forums for advise, very annoying when you are trying out new products for your office. The plan was to buy fifteen of these, for use on site etc (We are an Architectural practice).

Contrast this with the support we get from Dell, who are fantastic. No machine has been down for more than an hour if it failed. Superb!!

Will we buy Toshiba again, I dont think so... Evil or Very Mad

Unfortunately you will rarely get Dell-style service from any brand like Toshiba. The way Toshiba and friends (Sony, Fujitsu, etc.) compete with companies like Gateway, Dell, and to an extent HP is by offering cheaper products. In the end you get the same product for less, but you get less support normally. It's unfortunate really but it's how they compete.

I would reccomend if you still need a lot of machines for your office looking at Fujitsu. I have a friend that works for Cisco and is just all around techy and will never buy anything other than Fujitsu again. I would also reccomend talking with a salesman and making sure they know you will be a good customer if you are pleased. Maybe unfortunately- the nature of things though when you bring more money to the table you get better help.

That being said my few dealings with Toshiba have been fine. I had problems once with the touchpad not working and they helped me realize I was complete idiot and had disabled it with the function button (stupid touchpad function button looks identical to monitor switch function button lol) and also on a warranty claim for a broken screen cover (I haven't completed the claim but I called Toshiba to get it started). My next tablet/laptop won't be a Toshiba though, but not because the dissapointed me- but rather they failed to impress me. My M200 is great but it didn't go above and beyond, so I will give Fujitsu or such a chance.
