Hi all,

I am in the process of shopping for a docking station (port replicator) for my M205-S810 tablet PC. At www.toshibadirect.com I seem to have two choices:
(1) Toshiba Tablet Multi Dock II
(2) Toshiba Advanced Port Replicator III Plus

It seems that neither of the above two options support DVI graphics interface when it comes to M205-S810 tablets! Sad

I will appreciate your feedback for the following:
(1) Has anyone else used a docking station with their M205 tablet PCs? How do you like it?
(2) Is the supported RGB port truly an RGB or a typo for the VGA port?
(3) What is max resolution possible via the docking station graphics port?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Irfan

Are you looking for the increased quality with DVI? If not you can get a VGA to DVI converter at any computer store for probably a few bucks.

(1) I haven't
(2) Ummm as far as I know there is no such thing as a RGB port- it's probably a typo for VGA. I know my M200 has a VGA on the back.
(3) I would think the max resolution is probably the same max you get on your M200.

I would agree with Jay on both these points. I guess it's possible the RGB port could be another name for a S-Video port, but I would more likely think it's geared as a SVGA/DVI port.

The max resolution should mimic your tablets max resolution as the tablet is interfacing into the docking station. The video card in the tablet is telling the screen (internal/external) what resolution to display, not the docking station.

Hi all,

Thanks for your replies. I was a bit worried about the lack of a DVI port on Toshiba's port replicator since my work laptop, a Dell, has both DVI & VGA ports on its replicator. On Dell, I get better graphics when I use the DVI port as opposed to the VGA.
