Due to one of my roommates turning my C300's screen the wrong way, crunching the mechanism and assumedly severing a connection cord, my screen won't work at all. Until I can get it fixed (I was quoted 500$) or figure out how to do it myself, how can I load initially by plugging into an external monitor?

If I plug one in and boot up normally, it'll turn on briefly , showing the Windows startup splash, then switch back to the non-working tablet screen. So far the only thing that's worked is starting it in safe mode.

Thanks for any help!

Alex

Hi,
Have you tried FN-F5 after the C300 has booted? FN-F5 switches between the LCD and an external monitor.

thats a very useful tip. thanks for it. my friend was just telling me his screen wont display anything and that most probably the connection is broken. he was quoted a lot of money for repairs. while he is looking for other means, i could suggest him to use an external monitor!

Always check your FN buttons! I have had it be a problem several times, once I totally spaced and called Toshiba and almost sent it in before I realized it...

The "Monitor Switch Button" and "Touchpad on/off" buttons look almost identical on the M200. I always hit the "touchpad on/off" whenever I try to go to monitor, forget I hit it, come back to find my touchpad not working lol.
