I've gone and done this, and I am NOT HAPPY. Fujitsu has decided to provide no support whatsoever for Vista on the 5032. My employer bought this device less than 6 months ago and being told they have no plans to support vista is very disappointing.

I think it is completely unacceptable that they would refuse to release drivers and support software for a new OS on a 6 month old device. I bought a tablet PC instead of a PDA because it is just that, a PC, not a fixed configuration device. It's unfortunate that there aren't more slate tablets on the market, I've gotten much better support from HP.

After running windows update there are 4 devices that don't have drivers. They are: bluetooth, fingerprint, sound and an unidentified fujitsu ACPI device. Storage, input, video and networking all work correctly with native vista drivers.

I was able to get bluetooth working by downloading r142181.exe from Dell and editing the BthFilt.inf to add the USB device id (3001) to the list of alps bluetooth devices the driver was willing to support.

I'm hoping to find a sound driver as well, I can live without the fingerprint sensor.

The AC97 codec driver from realtek's site seems to work fine on the ST5032

Hi,
Thanks for the update. How is the performance of the ST5032 under Vista?

The ST5032 is no speed demon, but performance isn't any worse than under XP. menu drop-down speed is fine and opaque window move and resize are adequate as well. Browsing web pages and smooth-scrolling are snappy enough. the tablet features in vista seem a little more robust and power management seems better as well.

I got the fingerprint sensor to work by downloading the drivers and utilities from Asus for the R2H. Asus has better vista support for the ST5032 than Fujitsu does Rolling Eyes

The only remaining item without support is making the side buttons work. I expect that will require an app with the functionality of Fujitsu's button utilities and maybe a driver for whatever the ACPI\FU02E1 device is.
