My TC1000 often registers contact even when the stylus is not touching the screen; sometimes I have to wholly remove the stylus from detection range for it to stop drawing. I can't find a pen sensitivity setting, and although HP's official support advised me to reduce the pointer speed in Mouse settings, doing so didn't resolve the issue.

Has anyone else here encountered a problem like this?

Hi,
The TC1000 uses a different digitizer than most Tablet PCs that use Wacom digitizizers. All I can think of is to try replacing the tip of the stylus and see if that helps.

Hi Gwabel,

Yes, I have encountered the same problem. It is very annoying and renderes the tablet PC almost completely useless.

The problem here is not any setting or software problem, but a pen issue.
The pens actually have a contact behind the tip that activates the writing with pressure. The contact sticks and the pen keeps writing, although no pressure is being applied.

You can actually first try just turning the tip back and forth a little bit. This loosens it up a little bit. If that doesn't work you can remove the innards and try and get it "unstuck".
Be very careful pulling them out as there is a very thin cable going from the wrapped copper tip to the chipboard. A little turning back and forth coaxes it. If it is really stubborn a little! contact spray may help.

Well I hope I am not too late! Just found this forum. Good luck.

Take care,

DBAG
