G-NET Releases New Affordable Industrial Panel PC and Rugged Tablet PC Models

G-NET Incorporated, a provider of industrial vehicle mount computers and LCD monitors is proud to introduce two new models to its line, the G-NET Industrial Panel PC and the G-NET Rugged Tablet PC.

Puslinch, On (PRWEB) October 21, 2008 - G-NET Incorporated, a provider of industrial vehicle mount computers and LCD monitors is proud to introduce two new models to its line, the G-NET Industrial Panel PC and the G-NET Rugged Tablet PC.

"These two models represent a big step forward for our company." says Shawn Gusz, CEO of G-NET Inc. "The rugged tablet pc in particular is something we are very excited about. Over the past 10 years our company has only offered fixed mount vehicle PC's; the new rugged tablet is the first battery powered portable unit in our industrial computer and industrial LCD monitor product line."

According to Gusz, over the past two years G-NET has experienced a big shift in focus from the consumer market over to the more specialized rugged and industrial computer market and these two new products are reaffirming that position. When asked about the differences between the G-NET Rugged Tablet PC and the handful of other tablet offerings on the market, Gusz said, "There are definitely some good choices out there for industrial and government sector clients, but one of the main differences is cost. It seems that any company focused on this market also feels it can price gouge for something that should be more reasonably positioned. Our Rugged Tablet PC is just as good, if not better then many of the units out there priced over $3,000 but our offering has a base price of only $2,199."

The G-NET Rugged Tablet PC in its base configuration includes a 1.2 GHz processor, 512mb of RAM, 40gb rugged hard drive, and a 10.4" sunlight readable touch screen monitor and is preloaded with Windows™ XP. The rugged enclosure is designed to protect the unit in harsh environments, from the vehicle to the battlefield.

"The second product we are really excited about is our new 10.4" Industrial Panel PC. This system was built with affordability in mind. The unit features a fully enclosed metal chassis, a 1.5 GHz CPU, 512mb of RAM and a 40gb hard drive. As with most of our products the display is also a sunlight readable high brightness touch screen which is almost always required for vehicle mount and industrial applications." says Gusz. "We really believe in these new products and we will continue to innovate and develop new solutions in order to further position ourselves as a leading provider of industrial and vehicle mount computers."

Many company brands tout their so called ruggedized computers as bullet proof, but we personally have seen many succumb to the harsh environments these pcs are often expected to perform in. When you combine heat, dust, vibration and who knows what else, many of the lighter duty nodes fail well short of their warranty if they have one. While this application may be more forgiving than some industrial environments we have seen, the advice in this end of the market is shop on quality and reputation not price.
