Hello, I picked up a Gateway E295-C tablet PC a few months ago. When I first got it I upgraded the hard drive to a 500gb, the ram to 4gig, and then did a fresh install of Windows Vista Ultimate. At that time I was using the external video port on the side to dock it to my desktop 19" LCD monitor and an external USB keyboard & mouse. Shortly thereafter I picked up a Gateway port replicator and started using that to dock and undock my tablet at my desk to make things easier.

The problem is that within the past couple of weeks, the external display stopped working when I was connected to it. I updated all of my drivers, checked my video cables, verified the monitor was working with a different laptop, but still nothing. I also tried switching back to the external SVGA connector with the replicator connected and disconnected to see if it would work. The external display powers up from sleep mode and I get the backlight to come on, but no picture. I have also tried hooking it up to my HDTV with a SVGA cable and no picture there, same thing with the backlight. When I go into the display properties I see that Windows detects the external monitor as well as the make/model are picked up. I have tried changing it here to extend my desktop and duplicate it, but nothing seems to work. I even tried upgrading my Vista install to Windows 7 and get the same thing. As a last resort I did a fresh Windows install to make sure I didn't have any corrupt files, but alas same darn thing! When I power it on the other thing I used to see was the Gateway logo and BIOS screen would display on the external display, but now upon system power up, I get the black powered up display.

Has anyone seen this before, or does anyone have any more ideas I can try to get this working again? I use this for school and want to get it squared away before I start back in a few weeks. Any and all help is appreciated! Thanks for reading!
